Grind CBN Operator Job Description

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the operator is responsible for following all policies and procedures associated with the various parts and equipment that they may be required to run. In addition, operators are required to load/unload parts, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing.

Rate: $20-$24

2nd Shift: 3:30pm-12am

Essential Tasks

- Follow all policies and procedures, including the use of proper PPE

- Analyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and

travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specifications

- Verifies conformance of finished workpiece to customer specifications, using precision

measuring tools and equipment as necessary.

- Operates multiple 5 axis CBN machines, when assigned

- Utilizes knowledge of CNC principles and grinding fundamentals

- Utilizes knowledge of rotary/linear axes

- Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, grinding wheels, and workpieces on machines as

necessary to machine parts as required.

- Analyze, interpret CMM reports, and properly offset machine dimensions to meet customer

specifications

- Performs Deburr operations to within specified tolerances

- Operate overhead crane when necessary

- Documents actions by updating control charts, travelers, and reporting labor in the ERP

system

- Maintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties

- Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions,

irregularities, and continuing needs.

- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and

different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishment.
